Green Fairy Cocktail Vodka Absinthe
Absinthe has become tremendously popular; it is “in” to enjoy this liquor or the cocktails made with the green fairy Absinthe. Bartenders in the main cities of the planet are “creating” new cocktail recipes, since lots of young consumers are requesting Absinthe everywhere, and this liquor is high in alcohol content. To easy it’s consume, it is mixed with fruit juices, such, as apple, peach, mandarin, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, cranberry and combinations of this same fruit juices, it is also great mixed with lemonade and goes along with cola too. Other recipes are made by mixing Absinthe with champagne, red or white wine, vodka, brandy, cognac, and several other alternatives, it all depends on the bartender’s creativity, and the acceptance of the public to make this recipes successful and requested by the consumers.
This trendy liquor is versatile and it allows the creation of new cocktail recipes, such as follows:
Absinth Special cocktail:
Put 3 oz. of absinthe, 2 oz. of water, 1/4 tablespoon of Benedictine, 1 dash of bitters. Shake well with crushed ice. Serve in a martini glass.
TNT cocktail:
Add 3 oz. of Cognac, 2 oz. of Cointreau, 2 oz. of bitters, 3 oz. of absinthe. Stir in ice into old- fashioned glass. You can also add a twist of orange before serving.
Another absinth cocktail:
Add 1 oz. of Absinthe, 3 oz. of Benedictine, 2 oz. of lemon juice, and 1 oz. of water. Shake well with crushed ice. Serve in a martini glass.
Alternatively, try this other cocktail:
Add 2 oz. of gin, 1 tablespoon of dry vermouth, and 20 drops of absinthe into the same glass. Stir and add crushed ice. You can also add an olive before serving.
This is not a cocktail, but the so-called Czech traditional method to drink Absinth:
Caramelize one lump of sugar with a tablespoon of absinthe, and pour the caramelized sugar into a glass containing absinth, mix well and then add iced water to put out the flaming drink on a ratio of 5-1. You can also add syrup instead or liqueur de anise.
Minute absinth:
Dilute your absinthe with white wine, instead of water, or with cognac.
There are hundreds of ways of serving Absinthe, like the “green fairy” cocktail mixed with vodka. When consuming the green fairy (Absinthe) cocktail with vodka, it is also usually mixed with fruit juice, it is kind of refreshing, but be careful, since you do not feel the alcohol you are ingesting, and the combination can become a bomb. Both Absinthe and vodka are high proof alcoholic beverages, and in a green fairy cocktail is delicious, so take it easy and moderate its consume.
