Absinthe Questions
Roger Fouts had just received his degree as a “Media Communications” bachelor from the University of Oklahoma when he decided to talk with his boss and propose a new section in his boss’ radio program. Roger asked for only a few minutes, but his boss, Larry Ogden, had his dubts . Larry had been supporting Roger for the last two years of college but he felt unsure about Roger’s proposal. Roger’s proposal had to be studied carefully; it was a double-edged sword. Larry decided that a little bit of risk could change his same old routine; in fact, he was only giving Roger five minutes of his one-hour program, if it did not work, he will continue his routine and Roger would focus his energies in another project.
The very first time Roger went on the air he was a hit. A week before his first appearance in Larry’s program, Roger told his friends to spread the rumor of an interesting section in Larry’s program so he had the opportunity of being heard by the most audience possible. Roger started reading some absinthe questions made by him and continued to answered as if somebody had doubts. Roger said: “The first question we received out of air was: Am I a drug addict if I drink absinthe? No, absolutely not, if you drink some absinthe glasses you are just having an alcoholic drink ” Roger continued: “The second question was: “Can the thujone content in absinthe lead to a hallucinating state of mind? No way! The thujone content in any absinthe bottle is so small that you could drink a whole absinthe bottle without feeling any side effect. It has been scientifically proven that the thujone content in absinthe is safe for human consumption, but if you are talking about thujone as a root in the medicine area the answer could be yes”. Roger finished his participation saying: “our third and final question is: “Can I go to jail if police find me with an absinthe bottle? If you are not an absinthe dealer, police will not send you to prison, here in the United States absinthe is allowed only for personal use otherwise you are considered like a drug dealer, just one absinthe bottle and police will not even look at you. Well, this is all for today, thanks. This is Roger Fouts ready to answer your absinthe questions. Just contact us at RMH the river station and we will be glad to answer your absinthe questions.”
The following day, many people took part on the “absinthe questions” section. This time Roger did not have to answer his own questions, he answered real absinthe questions.
